NTT DOCOMO Ventures Makes Additional Investment as Lead Investor in AI model Inc., a Provider of AI Models

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Jun Yasumoto; hereinafter, “NDV”) is pleased to announce that, through a fund that it manages, it has made an additional investment in AI model Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Daiki Taniguchi; hereinafter, “AI model”), which supports digital transformation through the generation of fashion models and personalities using AI technology.

Through solutions that generate AI models and AI personalities using its proprietary generative AI technology, AI model provides services to optimize branding and promotions for TV commercials and advertisements, create key visuals for e-commerce sites and catalogs, and reduce the time and cost of shooting.

In February 2024, NDV announced its investment in AI model as the first lead investor in Japan^*1, anticipating the creation of new value through co-creation with the fashion and advertising services offered by the NTT DOCOMO Group. Since then, NDV has seconded a director to the company to assist with both management and collaboration, and as the lead investor, NDV provided support for this latest Series A funding round in cooperation with new investors and others.

With this additional investment, NDV will facilitate more frequent co-creation opportunities between AI model and the NTT DOCOMO Group. At the NTT DOCOMO VENTURES DAY 2024^*2 to be held by NDV on Friday, November 22, 2024, AI will be presenting its company profile and the solutions it provides in the booth exhibit and live pitch.
