NTT DOCOMO Ventures Invests in mazrica, Inc

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO, Takayuki Inagawa ; hereinafter, “NDV”) has invested, through its fund, in mazrica, Inc. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Japan; Co-CEOs, Eiji Kurosa and Tomofumi Iisaku; hereinafter, “mazrica”), which provides cloud-based sales force automation (SFA) system “Senses”.

SFA systems can visualize and share sales information, such as the progress of sales negotiations and customer information. They were initially advocated in the United States in the 1990s and have been rapidly spreading across Japan since the early 2000s.

However, many SFA systems have developed from the standpoint of “executives manage focusing on improving the efficiency of sales activities”; therefore, sometimes, sales representatives on the front line are not necessarily happy with such systems due to the additional burdens forced upon them, such as data entry.

For the purpose of solving these operational problems, mazrica developed a new cloud-based SFA system “Senses”. “Senses” aims to mitigate the data entry burden on the sales force and maximize the benefit given to the sales force, with it being launched in 2016.

“Senses” is highly rated by the company’s existing customers, and further growth can be expected on the basis of the potential growth of the applicable markets and business expansion. Furthermore, there is a close similarity between their services and NTT DOCOMO’s initiatives for institutional business; therefore, we have decided to make this investment on the basis that this investment will contribute to the creation of new values in these fields.

From now on, NDV will promote linkage between mazrica’s services and NTT DOCOMO’s services and will support activities such as joint creation of new services by the two companies. NDV will make further efforts to create new values.
