Invested in Kinvey Inc.

NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Minato-ku Tokyo, President & CEO: Minoru Etoh) today announced its investment in Kinvey Inc. (Boston, MA, CEO: Sravish Sridhar), a developer and provider of Enterprise Backend as a Service (BaaS) Platform.

1.Overview of the investment

Through the investment fund operated by the company, NTT DOCOMO Ventures completed the investment by joining the Series B funding round for Kinvey.

2.Background

Enterprise BaaS platform, developed by Kinvey, is expected to accelerate mobile shift for enterprise systems, reducing management and maintenance overhead. Variety of apps for mobile, tablets, web or Internet of Things have been developed through Kinvey’s BaaS platform. In addition, Kinvey’s BaaS platform equips with the data link and authentication link function with existing systems, enhances data security, and increases responsiveness to the enterprise market opportunities, especially for the mobility and flexibility needs on both public and private clouds. Kinvey’s technology is highly expected to contribute to the area of enterprise Cloud related businesses for NTT group companies.
