NTT DOCOMO Ventures to Launch DOCOMO Innovation Fund III, L.P., a Corporate Venture Investment Fund, to create new businesses and advance social reform in collaboration with startups.

On Friday, April 1, 2022, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “NDV”) will launch the DOCOMO Innovation Fund III, L.P. (hereinafter referred to as the “DI3 Fund”), which is worth 15 billion yen in total assets under management, with NTT DOCOMO, INC. (hereinafter referred to as “DOCOMO”) and NTT FINANCE CORPORATION. The purpose of this launch is to strengthen the cooperation with startups that have promising services and technologies.

DOCOMO has been engaged in strengthening its cooperation with startups offering innovative technologies and novel business models through the DOCOMO Innovation Fund Partnership (hereinafter referred to as the “DI Fund”), established in February 2013 and worth 10 billion yen in total assets under management, and the DOCOMO Innovation Fund II, L.P. (hereinafter referred to as the “DI2 Fund”), established in September 2017 and worth 15 billion yen in total assets under management.
To achieve goals under the New DOCOMO Group Medium-Term Strategy announced by DOCOMO in October 2021, the DI3 Fund will continue to support Japanese and international startups, promote collaboration with new DOCOMO Group companies, and look beyond the medium-term strategy to develop relationships with promising Japanese and international startups that will create a new world.

The DI3 Fund will be managed by NDV in the same way as the DI Fund and the DI2 Fund.
