NTT DOCOMO Ventures Invests in Total Future Healthcare Inc., which is Aiming for Social Implementation of a Model for Early Detection of Sudden Health Events and Disease Risk

　NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Jun Yasumoto; hereinafter, “NDV”) is pleased to announce that, through a fund that it manages, it has invested in Total Future Healthcare Inc., (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and Chairman: Keishin Sasaki; hereinafter, “TFH”), which aims for social implementation of a model for early detection of sudden health events and disease risk.

　TFH is working to realize an early detection model in which non-contact sensing devices are installed in the homes of single-person households to detect sudden health events such as indoor falls or drowning while bathing, as well as the risk of diseases such as dementia and diabetes, and appropriate healthcare is made available accordingly. The company aims to implement this model in society by uniting domestic and overseas technical partners with the cutting-edge technology necessary for solution development and business partners with the sales channels necessary for business development in a cross-industry manner.
　With the aging of the population, there is an increase in the number of people prone to sudden heath events in the home or other indoor areas, as well as diseases such as dementia and diabetes. Promoting the widespread adoption of this model throughout society will lead to the prevention of serious illnesses and poor health, and the reduction of medical costs for society as a whole.

　The NTT DOCOMO Group provides dHealthcare and other health care services, and is strengthening its business alliances in the healthcare field. In conjunction with this investment, on Friday, October 4, 2024, The NTT DOCOMO Group together with TFH and three other companies, launched a cross-industry platform.^*1 The NTT DOCOMO Group will contribute to the social implementation of this model through the provision of communication infrastructure and coordination with online medical services and online prescriptions.
