NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO: Minoru Etoh) today announced its investment, through the investment fund it operates, in Good Cycle System Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO: Tomoaki Endo, hereinafter referred to as “Good Cycle System”), an insurance pharmacy support system operator that provides a smart drug history system called “GooCo”.
NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc., through the investment fund it operates, completed the investment by joining the funding round for Good Cycle System.
Good Cycle System develops and provides systems to support pharmacy operators’ patient needs-focused service in an effort to help realize a society marked by sound health and wellness. In particular, the company’s flagship product GooCo, the iPad-compatible smart drug history system allows the user pharmacy to provide medicine taking instructions in ways befitting each patient’s drug history and individual needs, based on guidance made available in a digital content format.
As outlined in the “*1Pharmacy Vision for Patients,” guidelines formulated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in October 2015, experts now attach importance to “Regular Patient Pharmacy Service,” a type of service that provides medicine taking instructions, based on the information on each patient’s continuous medicine taking. Insurance pharmacies across the country will become obligated to provide medicine taking instructions in a manner that is focused on patient needs, making it likely that Good Cycle System’s solutions to support such pharmacy service will enjoy growing demand in the coming years.
The endeavors pursued by Good Cycle System are highly harmonious with the patient needs-focused medical service provided by NTT DOCOMO, INC., and leading us to have high hopes that the latest investment will contribute to creating new value in the future.
